SRL Volume Profile
SRL Volume Profile is a free companion indicator that draws a volume profile (VPVR) on your chart: it shows the price levels where the most contracts were traded. It automatically marks the POC (the level with the highest volume) and the Value Area High/Low (the zone where 70% of the volume traded), and on top of that it splits each bar into a buy portion (green) and a sell portion (red). It's a visual tool, not a signal generator — it's for finding the levels that price defends. Ideal as a confluence layer under ICT/Goldbach setups from Strefa.
Quick start
1. Add the indicator to your chart
The indicator is shared as invite-only. In TradingView open Indicators → the Invite-only scripts tab → click SRL Volume Profile 📊 | Strefa Tradingu. After a moment the volume profiles will be drawn directly on the price chart (the indicator works as an overlay).
2. Set 3 things to start
In the indicator settings window (the gear icon) it's worth checking right away:
- 🌍 Język / Language — set it to PL (default) if you want the messages in Polish, or EN for English.
- 📏 Number of Bars (the ⚙️ Settings group) — how many candles one profile covers. Default is 50. Leave it at 50 to start; for a wider picture, raise it to 100–150.
- 📊 Number of Profiles — how many consecutive profiles to draw side by side. Default is 3. For a cleaner chart to start, set it to 1 (one profile over the most recent candles).
Two helper fields you usually don't need to touch: 📐 Number of Rows (the number of horizontal bars, default 50 — more = higher precision) and ↔️ Distance from Last Candle (the gap between the profile and the last candle, default 2).
Note: if Number of Profiles × Number of Rows gets too large, the indicator will show a red "VPVR WARNING" label reporting that the limit was exceeded — in that case reduce the number of profiles or rows. The default combination (3 × 50) fits within the limit.
3. How to read the main signal
Look at the horizontal volume bars and the three key lines:
- 🎯 POC line (red, solid) — Point of Control, i.e. the price level with the highest volume. This is the most important point: the market "traded" the most right there, so it often acts like a magnet and as support/resistance.
- 📐 Value Area lines (yellow, dashed) — VAH (upper) and VAL (lower) mark the zone where 70% of the volume traded. Price between them = the "fair value" area; a move outside this zone can be a breakout signal.
- Bar color — 🟢 green is buy volume, 🔴 red is sell volume at that price level. The length of the bar shows how much volume was at that price.
4. Usage example — BTCUSDT, H1 timeframe
- Open the BTCUSDT chart on the H1 (1 hour) timeframe.
- Add SRL Volume Profile and in the settings set Number of Profiles = 1 and Number of Bars = 50 (the profile will cover the last 50 hours).
- Find the red POC line — this is the level around which trading from the last ~2 days was concentrated. Mark it as key support/resistance.
- See where price is relative to the yellow VAH / VAL lines. If price has returned inside the 70% zone and is bouncing off the POC, you have a natural level to watch for a reaction. If price breaks above VAH with green (buy) bars dominant — that's a sign of buyer pressure above that zone.
- Want to compare several periods? Increase Number of Profiles to 2–3 — the indicator will draw separate profiles for each block of 50 candles, showing how the POC levels shifted over time.
Questions and answers
I bought the indicator but I don't see it in TradingView's list — how do I add it to my chart?
The indicator is closed (invite-only), so you won't find it through a regular search. You first need to enter your TradingView username in the Strefa panel — then you'll get access on your account. After that open a chart, click "Indicators", go to the "Invite-only scripts" tab, and you'll find "SRL Volume Profile" there. If it's not there, access hasn't propagated yet (it can take several to a dozen or so minutes) or the username was entered with a typo.
What timeframe is best for using this profile?
It works on any timeframe, but it makes sense where the instrument has real volume (crypto, stocks, futures). For daily planning and finding reaction zones, H1 –H4 works well; for intraday execution, drop to M5–M15. Just remember that the profile counts volume from the last N candles (default 50) on the current timeframe — changing the timeframe changes how much real time the profile covers (50 H1 candles is ~2 days, 50 M5 candles is ~4 hours).
How do I set alerts for a touch of the POC or VAH/VAL?
You can't — and that's intentional. This indicator has no built-in alerts or signals (there are no alertconditions in the code at all). It's a purely visual layer: it draws the profile, the POC and the Value Area, and you make the decision. If you want an alert on a price level, set it manually by clicking the drawn POC/VAH/VAL line and choosing "Add alert", or use another signal indicator from Strefa for alerting.
How do I even read this profile — what's the most important level?
The most important is the POC (red line) — the level where the most volume traded, i.e. the price the market "defends" most strongly. Around it you have the Value Area between VAH and VAL (yellow dashed lines) — the zone where 70% of the volume traded; that's the "fair price" area. In practice: when price returns to the POC from above or below, it often reacts there. Price moving outside VAH/VAL is a sign that the market is looking for a new equilibrium. Wide green bars = buy dominance at that level, wide red = sell dominance.
What exactly does "Number of Profiles" do and how is it different from "Number of Bars"?
"Number of Bars" (default 50) is how many candles ONE profile covers. "Number of Profiles" (default 3, max 10) is how many such profiles the indicator draws side by side, going back in time. With the default settings you have 3 profiles of 50 candles each, i.e. a view of the last ~150 candles split into three separate "blocks". Each subsequent profile shows an older zone. Want one big profile of the whole range — set Profiles to 1 and increase Number of Bars.
A red message "VPVR WARNING / Boxes required" popped up — what does it mean?
It's a warning that you've exceeded the drawing limit. The indicator calculates demand as the number of profiles times the number of rows times 2, and TradingView allows a maximum of 500 boxes to be drawn. Example: 5 profiles of 60 rows is 5x60x2 = 600, which is too much — some bars won't be drawn. Solution: reduce "Number of Profiles" or "Number of Rows". The default 3 profiles and 50 rows (3x50x2 = 300) fit comfortably within the limit.
I turned on the indicator and I don't see anything / the lines are invisible — what should I set?
Three most common causes. First: the instrument has no volume data (some indices/forex pairs) — then the profile has nothing to calculate from. Second: the top and bottom line color is BLACK by default, which on a dark chart theme is practically invisible — change "Top/Bottom Lines" to a light color in the Colors group. Third: you have too little history on the chart relative to "Number of Bars" (e.g. 365 candles on a freshly added instrument) — reduce the number of candles or load more history by scrolling the chart to the left.
Are the green and red bars real buy/sell delta from the order book?
No. It's an approximation calculated from the close position within the candle: the closer to the top of the candle price closed, the greater the "buy" share; the closer to the bottom — the more "sell". This is not real order-flow or L2/order-book data — TradingView doesn't provide that on standard data. Treat the buy/sell split as a hint about the character of the level, not as an exact delta. The POC and Value Area themselves are calculated from full volume and are reliable.
Does this indicator repaint?
Not in the sense of faking signals — because it gives no signals. The profile is calculated from already-closed candles (offset by "Distance from Last Candle", default 2), so that data doesn't change. What is natural, however, is that the whole profile "shifts" forward with each new candle — because it's anchored to the last candle and shows the rolling last N candles. That's not a bug, just how it works: you're always looking at the freshest range. Want a static profile for a specific historical range — increase "Distance from Last Candle".
How do I combine this profile with the other Strefa indicators?
Use it as a confluence layer. The POC and VAH/VAL overlay beautifully onto Goldbach/PO3 levels or supply-demand zones from SRL Support & Resistance — if a GB level lines up with the POC, you have a stronger argument. In ICT killzones, check whether price reacts to the POC during the New York window. The rule: this indicator answers the question "where is the big money and what is price defending", while the signal indicators (e.g. SRL ICT Suite) tell you "when" — the profile gives you the zone, the signal gives you the moment.
