SRL HTF Candles & Pivots

SRL HTF Candles & Pivots is a free overlay that draws higher-timeframe candles (daily by default) on your chart, together with pivots, an expected price range and a side info bar. So when you trade on a lower timeframe (e.g. H1 or M15), you immediately see where today's open, high, low and the key support/resistance levels from above sit. It's a context (companion) tool — it doesn't give buy/sell signals, it only shows the higher-timeframe structure and warns you in the message panel when price approaches an important level or crosses it.

Quick start

Below is the minimum needed to get higher-timeframe (HTF) candles, pivots and the expected price range on your chart in a few minutes.

1. Add the indicator to your chart

The indicator is shared as invite-only, so you won't find it in the regular search.

  1. On the TradingView chart, click Indicators in the top toolbar.
  2. Go to the Invite-only scripts tab.
  3. Pick SRL HTF Candles & Pivots from the list and click to add it to your chart.

If the indicator isn't on the list, it means your account hasn't been added to the invited users yet — ask for access.

2. Set 3 things to start

Open the indicator settings (the gear icon next to its name) and set:

  • ⏱️ HTF Timeframe (group ⚙️ General) — defaults to D (daily candle). This is the timeframe of the candle overlaid on your chart. Leave it at D if you trade on lower timeframes (M5–H4). The Auto option picks a higher timeframe to match your chart's timeframe by itself.
  • Labels (group 🎯 Pivots) — defaults to ⊗ Hide. Change it to Right so the level names (PP, R ¹, S ¹, etc.) appear next to the pivot lines. Without this you only see the lines, with no labels.
  • Draw on chart (group 📐 Expected price range) — defaults to ⊗ Hide. Change it to Next forecast to see the zone of the expected price move for the next period.

The rest (color palette, message panel, side bar) you can leave at defaults — the message panel and side bar are on right away.

3. How to read the main signal

On the chart you'll see a higher-timeframe candle overlaid on your chart. In the default view (View = Both, group 🕯️ HTF Candle):

  • Dotted frame = the full High–Low range of the HTF candle (the period's high and low).
  • Solid body = the Open–Close range (open and close).

On top of that come the pivot levels: the horizontal PP line (the central pivot point) plus R¹–R⁵ (resistances above price) and S¹–S⁵ (supports below price). The main work is watching how price reacts to these levels — bounces off PP, R¹, S¹ and closes of the HTF candle within the High–Low range.

On the right side of the chart the 📊 Side bar (on by default, offset by 7 candles) shows the key levels at a glance: Previous day, Previous week, PP and Expected price range — without cluttering the middle of the chart.

4. Usage example — BTCUSDT, H1 timeframe

  1. Open the BTCUSDT chart on the H1 (1 hour) timeframe.
  2. Add the indicator (step 1) and in the settings leave ⏱️ HTF Timeframe = D — on the H1 chart the current daily candle will appear as a dotted frame (daily High–Low) with a body (daily Open–Close).
  3. In the 🎯 Pivots group set Labels = Right — you'll see the labeled PP, R ¹, S ¹ lines.
  4. In the 📐 Expected price range group set Draw on chart = Next forecast — you'll get the zone of the expected price reach for the next daily candle.
  5. Trade intraday (on H1), using the day's levels as a map: price below PP and bouncing off is context to play short; price above PP returning to is context to play long. The Side bar on the right hints where the previous day's high/low sit — frequent spots for price reactions.

Questions and answers

I bought access in Strefa — how do I add the indicator on TradingView?

It's an invite-only indicator. Give Strefa your exact TradingView username (not your e-mail), and once access is granted you'll find it on the chart in the "Indicators" window → "Invite-only scripts" tab. You click it and it loads onto the chart as an overlay. If it's not there: check that you gave the correct username and refresh TradingView (log out/log in). You can't find it through the public search — only from the invite-only list.

On which chart timeframe should I turn it on and what do I set in the "HTF Timeframe" field?

The indicator overlays candles from a HIGHER timeframe onto your current chart, so it only makes sense when the HTF timeframe is higher than the chart timeframe. Typically: you trade on M15/H1, and in the "⏱️ HTF Timeframe" field (General group) you have "D" (daily) by default — you then see the daily candle on the hourly chart. If you don't want to fiddle, set "Auto" — the indicator will pick a sensible higher timeframe for your chart itself. Avoid the 1-minute chart: the panel will show the warning "May display incorrectly on 1 min", because the counter of 9 can't be counted there.

How do I turn on notifications when price approaches a level?

This indicator doesn't have classic push/pop-up alerts — it notifies VISUALLY through the "💬 Message panel" (on by default, in the bottom right corner). When price approaches an HTF level (open, high, low, PP), an entry with a 📢 icon appears; when it crosses the level — a ⚔️ icon. You set the sensitivity with the "Threshold %" field (default 0.05 — i.e. 0.05% distance from the level). Want more/fewer alerts in the panel — lower/raise the Threshold %. In the panel you can also separately turn on Calendar, Info, Warnings and PP.

What am I actually supposed to read from this indicator — what's the "main signal"?

The core is the HTF candle as a map of levels. The "Both" view (default) draws the dotted frame (the higher timeframe's high–low range) and the solid body (open–close). These four levels of the day are your natural reaction zones. On top of that come the pivots (PP, R1–R5, S1–S5), the expected price range and the side bar on the right with a summary. The operational signal is how price behaves at these levels: 📢 = price is testing a level, ⚔️ = a break. The indicator doesn't say "buy/sell" — it gives higher-timeframe context, and you make the decision (or your Strefa setup does).

I chose the "Traditional" pivot type, but there are no S/R lines on the chart — why?

Because pivots are HIDDEN by default. In the "🎯 Pivots" group the "History" field is factory-set to "⊗ Hide" — just picking the type (Traditional/Fibonacci/Camarilla, etc.) won't draw anything until you switch "History" to "All" (pivots across the whole history) or "New only" (the current period only). Separately, also turn on "Labels" (also Hidden by default) to see the PP/R1/S1 labels. The same applies to the "Expected price range" — its "Draw on chart" field also starts on "Hide".

The daily candle suddenly "jumped" to the right or is doubling — what mode is that?

That's the HTF Candle History mode. In the "🕯️ HTF Candle" group the "History" field has three options, and the "Shifted forward" mode confuses users most often: it projects the PREVIOUS HTF candle onto the current period (yesterday's candle's map of levels imposed on today) — hence the "shift" impression. By default it sits on "All" (candles across the whole history, the normal view). "New only" shows only the current period. If something looks odd/doubled — go back to "All". In "Shifted" mode you can additionally hide the current period's candles with the "Hide today's when Shifted" option.

The message panel shows a different time than my clock — which zone does it count from?

The panel has its own "Time zone" field (Message panel group), default "GMT-4" — i.e. New York in summer time. If you want Polish time, set "GMT+2" (Poland in summer) or "GMT+1" in winter. This setting only changes the times shown next to the panel's messages — it doesn't affect the moment the levels are counted (those come from your symbol's HTF candle). Note: this is a separate field from the TradingView chart's own time zone — if you want consistency, set both to the same value.

I added the indicator, but almost nothing shows up — what do I turn on?

Visible out of the box are: HTF candles ("Both" view), the side bar on the right and the message panel. The rest starts HIDDEN and you have to turn it on manually: pivots (Pivots → History → "All"), the expected price range (group "📐" → Draw → "All" or "Developing"), the candle range labels (group "🏷️ Labels" → View → "Price" or "Pips") and the round 00 levels (in the Side bar tick "Round levels (00)"). If you can't even see the candle — check that the HTF timeframe is higher than the chart timeframe.

Does this indicator repaint (redraw itself)?

Closed HTF candles and their levels are fixed — they don't change after the fact. However, the CURRENT, still-forming higher-timeframe candle naturally "lives": its high, low and close update until the HTF period closes — that's not a bug, that's how every candle works. Likewise the "Developing" expected-range mode calculates the line live. The previous week's data in the side bar is taken from a confirmed, closed candle, so nothing shifts there. In short: history is stable, only the current period's element is finishing forming.

How do I combine it with other Strefa indicators?

It's a context tool and is deliberately an overlay — it runs great in the background under Strefa's setup indicators (e.g. Smart Range Logic / killzones, structure, order blocks). Set it up to provide the higher-timeframe frame: daily candle + pivots + expected range as target and decision zones, while you read the actual entry signal from another indicator on a lower timeframe. To keep it from obscuring the chart, you can reduce it to just the levels (candle View "Open-Close" or "Narrow candle") and turn on only the PP/R1/S1 pivots. With many indicators it's worth turning on "Memory saving" (Options group), so the chart doesn't slow down.
